The European Commission visits the LIFE Oroklini project - May 2014

On 6 May 2014, the European Commission visited the LIFE Oroklini project for the scheduled check of the project. According to the LIFE program guidelines, such visits take place at least once in the duration of a project. The purpose of the visit was to check the implementation progress of the project activities and discuss any issues arising, with the project partners. During the visit, the European Commission had a meeting with all project partners, as well as a site visit to see first-hand all the works implemented so far, as part of the LIFE Oroklini project. Generally, the project is on the right track and is being implemented in an efficient way.

Taking the opportunity of the European Commission’s visit, the Desk Officer of the LIFE Unit, Mrs Muriel Drukman, was invited to inaugurate the Information Kiosk. Despite the rainy weather, around 60 people attended the event and enjoyed the birds, from the observation platform of the Information Kiosk. The event took place in a celebrative atmosphere, the guests had the opportunity to birdwatch, while face painting with birds as a theme was offered for children.

The LIFE Oroklini project will end in December 2014.
