A photo exhibition demonstrating Oroklini Lake and its rich wildlife has opened for the public on 20 November 2013

The exhibition titled “Oroklini Lake all through the year” is organised as part of the LIFE project “Restoration and Management of Oroklini Lake”. The aim of the exhibition is to spread the message about the importance and the need to protect Oroklini Lake.

The 92 images exhibited were selected from a photo competition which was open for a year, to give the photographers the opportunity to capture the variable environment of the lake through the four seasons. The same photos were used to create a photo album that will serve as a tribute to Oroklini Lake and its biodiversity.

The inauguration of the photo exhibition was done by the Director of the Environment Department, Mr Costas Hadjipanayiotou, while the event and exhibition were organised by the Voroklini Community Council, partner to the LIFE project. The event also included the award of the prizes of the photo competition. To view the photo competition results please click here. The positive comments and smiles from the more than 100 guests highlighted the celebrative atmosphere of the event.

The photo exhibition will remain open to the public for one month, until 20 December, at the Voroklini Community Council. Opening hours 08:00 - 15:00 but we advise you to call first (24 644744) in case there is a bank holiday, or other event that may be going on in that hall.
